Canteros started his professional career for Vélez Sársfield on February 8, 2009, coming on as a substitute in his team's 0–0 draw with Independiente (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_Atl%C3%A9tico_Independiente) for the first fixture of the 2009 Clausura (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008%E2%80%9309_Argentine_Primera_Divisi%C3%B3n_se ason#Torneo_Clausura).[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%A9ctor_Canteros#cite_note-2) He played only one more game in that tournament (8th fixture against Banfield (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_Atl%C3%A9tico_Banfield)), that his team went on to win.
