This was created for those of you that would rather skip all the hassles of installing a fresh OS onto a newly formatted volume. This virgin OS has never been booted yet and will require you to create a user account. To restore this onto a Mac GUID partitioned volume: Use Apple's Disk Utility to restore it to a fresh volume or your favourite disk copying tool. Additional info:
- The disk image is restore ready and you do not need to "scan for restore" prior to using the restore button when using Apple's Disk Utility.
- You'll will need a minimum of 7 gigabytes of space but 12 gigabytes or more would be better for basic needs.
- In case you have any problems, use Apple's official 10.8.2 combo updater and repair the permissions. If the update refuses to install you can forcefully do it with Pacifist.
