Submitting your work
This TMA should be submitted to your tutor electronically through the LMS system before the
cut-off date indicated above. Please note that it is your respolity to ensure that your work is
submitted in the correct format. Anything submitted after the midnight deadline will not count
for assessment purposes.
The TMA is marked out of 100, out of which 20% will be considered for the continuous
assessment grade.
It consists of 4 questions. The total marks for each question are shown at the beginning of each
question. The marks allocated to each part of a question are indicated in the margin.

Part 1 [5 marks]
Use the common forum in LMS, in TU170 page, to initiate a discussion and to share your ideas with your classmates about one of the following topics:
Social Networking
Cloud computing
Computer viruses
Computer crimes
You should screenshots of all the thread messages and paste it on your solution for this part. The thread should contain at least ten messages; five of them should be yours.
Part 2 [6 marks]
1. In your own words, within the range of 80-120 word count, explain why nowadays the communication is the most Internet activity. [2 marks]
2. In your own words, within the range of 80-120 word count, explain why it is a must to use input/output devices when interacting with the computer system. [2 marks]
3. In your own words, within the range of 80-120 word count, define what the Cybercrime is and support your answer with two examples. [2 marks]
Part 3 [7 marks]
1. Practicing on Spreadsheets
Create a spreadsheet similar to figure 1.
Fill the values in January, February and March at your choice.
Create formulas to calculate the average of each expense in three months (This will be in column E).
Create formulas to calculate the total expenses for each month (This will be in row 10).
Create formulas to calculate the lowest expense in each month (This will be in row 11).
Create formulas to calculate the percene of food to the total expenses for each month (This will be in row 12).
Create a bar or column chart to represent only January expenses.

Make sure to insert titles for the chart, x axis and y axis.
For this question you need to provide one screenshot of the spreadsheet containing all the values along with the required chart.

2. Open your email (if you don’t have an email account, you can create a new one using one of the mail providers such as Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail). Send an email using your own words to your tutor’s email address describing what are the computer essentials, knowledge, skills that you gained from studying the course TU170. [3 marks]
For this question, you should provide one screenshot for the email sent to your tutor.
Notes:
Sending an email to your tutor without providing a screenshot will not be counted when grading this question.
Minimum word count required for this part is 80.
